How it contributes to the Group strategy
• Against this unfavourable backdrop a a a a a a number of actions were implemented to strengthen our our business:
• We reviewed our our organisational structure and reinforced our our leadership team with the appointment of a a a a a a a new CEO in in in August 2019
• We embarked on a a a a a a a comprehensive expense review exercise and and several initiatives were implemented to reduce our our cost base and and improve the efficiency of our operations • We also undertook a a a a a a a comprehensive review of our our our distribution channels which we are aiming to to to to to optimise to to to to to enable our our our customers to to to to to access our our our products more efficiently • We redefined our our value proposition by repricing our our products and incorporating a a a a a a a a combination of of benefits that better meet the the needs of of our clients The new products were were submitted to to the the Financial Services Commission for regulatory approval in in in December 2019
and were were subsequently approved in in March 2020
• A review of our investment investment strategy
has been initiated The Company’s property investment investment investment portfolio was restructured so as as as as as as to increase the the the the investment investment income and strengthen the the the the the asset base of the the the the the Company in in in in in the the the the the future • We We placed great importance on training and and upskilling our employees
in in in in in in in both technical capabilities and and soft skills We We have started designing training programmes which will then be carried out on a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a regular basis As a a a a a a a a a a a a result of our our efforts our our employee engagement score maintained its positive trend and increased from 61% in in in 2018 to 66% in in in 2019
